Fallas in colour

Although it is almost impossible to capture Fallas by only one sense,
photographer Cesar Gonzalez comes as close as possible.

For those who know everything or at least something about Fallas, this article might not be interesting. For those who don’t, here is a bit of introduction: this tradition started somewhere in the 18th century and every year got bigger and louder. So after three centuries of growth…you can imagine the rest.

Fallas Valencia is arguably the craziest festival in Europe and one of the most bizarre and fascinating European attractions. It is a never-ending series of events throughout the year that culminate in only one week. Imagine an event in which almost two million people participate – half performing and the other half watching. Valencia’s biggest tourist attraction was added to Unesco’s Heritage List of Humanity, in 2016.

Fallas festival has always been one of the top inspirations for Valencian artists. Although it is almost impossible to capture Fallas by only one sense, photographer Cesar Gonzalez comes as close as it gets. He captures colour. And that he does in a spectacular way. Here are only some of his Fallera photographs.  If you would like to see more, you can pay him a visit on Instagram: @cesargonzalezphotography or go to his Facebook page https:// www.facebook.com /cesargonzalezphotograph. To further your Fallas experience, even more you can join his Facebook group too. It is called, who would have doubted, “Fallas addicts”.
